The title to my blog is what it is because I hope to distinguish between this one as opposed to any other I have been a part of before. The gist of much that occurred within the other blogs boiled down to what was, IMO, simply the herd following the bell cow mentality regarding serious subjects, or only a lot of frivolity.
I am hoping for tastefulness, as well as greater personal control over what is presented.
I am aware that this is the USA, and freedoms are enjoyed here. However, I am clearly saying ahead of time that I will removed/edit/censor anything that fails the test of tastefulness. What qualifies?
Politics
Debatable issues, not personal attacks upon candidates, except where it can be successfully shown to factor into the issues discussion. One’s values matter. One’s vocabulary, looks, clothing, ears size, personality quirks do not matter.
Religion
The same as for politics. All questions that are discernibly serious are permitted. Ridicule is not.
Disagreement is permitted, but harse personal attacks will go down the poop chute.
Personal interests
This one will have a little more flexibility. I do not like bird watching, but perhaps you do. Go ahead and share. I will let you rave on about the obviously red breast of the red-breasted robin. Ho Hum, are you done?
Jokes
Funny, but not bigoted.
I am religious, but love to have fun poked at my beliefs. Humor is healthy, and illuminating, as well.
Go for it. Ethnic jokes are off-limits.
Finally,
I have not forgotten the color of my skin since I looked into the mirror early this morning, and I am also fully aware of your pigment when I look at you. What I can not see initially, is the content of your character. That’s what will matter, not blindness, but insight. Open your heart, your head, and your dreams so we can see the people whom we are. This is whom we seek to know.

I have no idea what to do with this thing. I feel the need to revive a dedicated medium that can replace the degenerated former one for discussions, family events, and everyting we value. This time with predetermined standards for what is acceptable; above all, the old disagree without being disagreeable.
